1. Create a secure environment

For the start of school, the most important thing is a carefree induction period. Both the child and the parent have to adapt to a new way of life, which can take several months. It is very important for a child that a loved one is there for him or her. Be sure to never compare your child's development to someone else's - everything is different and needs your recognition to make progress.

2. Colored book papers are helpful!

The smartest way for a child to navigate between different textbooks is with a colored cover paper. In addition to the book, paper of the same color could also be placed around the workbook - then everything is needed in one color for one substance. The child gets used to the colors, finds them more easily in the school bag, and later it is easy for him to remember what he has to take with him when packing the bag. If you use book papers in fun tones, your child will have a better time packing them up in a school bag!

3. Plastic covers protect

To protect your book paper, there are also different sizes of plastic covers to help textbooks withstand more. This way you don't have to put in new papers in half a year, but the textbooks will definitely last until spring.

4. Find similar notebooks!

If textbooks are covered with colored covers, it's a good idea to purchase notebooks in similar colors. Notebooks with great patterns stand out and so the child can easily find the right notebooks in the school bag.

5. Stickers help stand out!

Children can have a lot of trouble recognizing their stuff at the beginning, so it's important that the textbooks include the child's name. It's a good idea to use a thicker marker or stickers instead. You can stick colored stickers on the book paper to help your child recognize their textbooks and workbooks.

6. Create a system when packing a school bag

It is very important to teach your child a sense of responsibility. When a child goes to school for the first time, he or she should be given a lot of support at the beginning. For example, when packing a bag, the same activity could be repeated together for several days, so that it becomes a routine activity for the child, which can later be done independently.
When packing, it is good to use one specific system that helps the child to better understand how to assemble the bag.
To get started, it's a good idea to make two stacks: one for everything you need, which must be with you, and the other for everything else that makes learning easier, but doesn't have to be with you all the time.
Some supplies may not be necessary, but they make the school day much easier and more interesting to learn. These can be, for example, various markers, nicely shaped bookmarks or colored note papers.
Later, you can inspect the bag with your own eyes for security. Children develop the habit and sense of duty to take all things with them over time.

7. Pack smart!

The keys and wallet can be attached to a longer chain or ribbon inside the bag so that the child has them securely attached to the school bag. When placed in a loose bag, they may be lost during the day.
Even if you're worried about September 1st, try to stay as calm as possible. Introduce the child to what is ahead and instill in him that everything is going well!
